1920's MAGNAVOX R3 Mod. B POWERED 14” HORN SPEAKER 44738. B powered 14" horn speaker from the 1920s.
The driver tests healthy at 11 ohms. The multicellular horn has spots of oxidation and one heavier area (see close-up photos). It weighs 14 lbs 10 oz.
Unit works, DCR in pics, Has paint loss as pictured.
Used but in good working condition, both have a DCR reading of 7.2 ohms.

It is a custom product inspired by the Altec A7 Voice of the Theater, designed in a compact size. The units used are the GHXAMP For ALTEC 3-inch full-range speaker unit, model “EB-M07800080100-B.” These units are commonly used in ALTEC LANSING PC speakers and surround systems. I was surprised by how beautifully the midrange to high frequencies are reproduced, characteristic of the ALTEC sound. The front horn design allows for vivid vocals and a rich soundstage, showcasing the warmth of vocals and the expressive tones of the alto saxophone—truly an ALTEC experience. This front horn bass reflex speaker provides a bass response that surpasses its size. I have modified a "Goldwood GT-1016 piezo horn tweeter" to resemble the original A7's 511B sectoral horn. The piezo horn features improved diaphragm design, a cast-metal-like finish, and is coupled with a capacitor for low-cut filtering. This full-range plus super tweeter configuration enhances clarity and definition in the sound. These horns are made by Heppner, and were removed from a high-end Hoffman stereo console from the 1960s. DCR measures 10.7 and 11.1 Ohms, so I'm assuming they're 16 Ohm drivers. All metal construction. Please see photos for details. Safely packaged and quickly shipped.
