Tube Amp Printed Circuit Board for Guitar Bass Keyboard Amplifier 5C1 This offer is for the bare Printed Circuit Board (PCB) only, as inspired by the Fender Champion 5C1 amplifier. (The title photo shows the front and back of the board. You will receive one board.) This is not a kit. Additional parts are required. The populated board, components, chassis, transformers and tubes are NOT included in this listing. The only item included in this listing is the BARE PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD. This printed circuit board component and the resulting amplifier are intended for experienced persons. The completed unit and associated components produce potentially dangerous voltages. The AWA ’48 Special is inspired by the Fender Champion 5C1, which was built between 1948-1952. It makes use of a 6SJ7 gain stage and a 6V6 power amp. The preamp can use grid leak bias or cathode bias. The ’48 Special can be very quiet and employs a large amount of filtering on B+ and offers the possibility to reference the center-tapped heaters to the 6V6 cathode. When cranked up, it breaks up nicely and produces about three watts into four or eight ohms. The 5C1 circuit was substantially different than the later 5F1 or 5F2A Champ and today many players prefer to have a 5C1 in their studio. The ’48 Special is a very nice circuit and the PCB is well done. This offering is for the bare PCB only and additional components are required.
