Pair Rectangle Super Horn Tweeters Speakers 2x5 inch Car Home Pro Audio ~ Replacement for KSN1016A PLEASE READ!This is a popular super horn tweeter that's common in a variety of car, home, and pro speaker cabinets. They are an inexpensive quality aftermarket replacement for Motorola KSN1016A. They are also a common OEM part in many new speaker systems. NOTE: Tweeters are NOT full-range speakers! They are for high frequencies only! It's a "piezo" design. In case you did not know... They are extremely lightweight and do not have a magnet. As a rule they do not affect the impedance of sound systems and can be used with 4 and/or 8 ohm systems. No crossover is required but one can also be used. Reliability is excellent. These OEM replacements by Vital Wave are a proven design. They're simply made better and are designed to last. Although it can be done (usually by accident), they're pretty hard to kill. These tweeters work great wired in parallel and when used in multiples deliver even more high frequency output. This is often a configuration used in pro speakers and separate add-on tweeter only boxes. Wiring is easy even for entry level installers. Simply connect the +/- terminals to any existing speaker output connection. Just make sure they are not connected to a woofer only output used with a coil or crossover. That will not allow the highs to pass through. We're glad to help with any wiring questions. Just ask! These don't even need to be mounted in a cabinet! The units used are the GHXAMP For ALTEC 3-inch full-range speaker unit, model “EB-M07800080100-B.” These units are commonly used in ALTEC LANSING PC speakers and surround systems. I was surprised by how beautifully the midrange to high frequencies are reproduced, characteristic of the ALTEC sound. The front horn design allows for vivid vocals and a rich soundstage, showcasing the warmth of vocals and the expressive tones of the alto saxophone—truly an ALTEC experience. This front horn bass reflex speaker provides a bass response that surpasses its size. I have modified a "Goldwood GT-1016 piezo horn tweeter" to resemble the original A7's 511B sectoral horn. The piezo horn features improved diaphragm design, a cast-metal-like finish, and is coupled with a capacitor for low-cut filtering. This full-range plus super tweeter configuration enhances clarity and definition in the sound. We will return at the customer's expense or destroy/discard after 60 days *AUDITIONING YOUR SPEAKERS Each speaker order includes the following instructions: To "audition" a speaker without scratching or marking it will require getting into the speaker cabinet and listening to it play without actually mounting it with screws. This can be done by tilting the cabinet back and setting the speaker in place. If the cabinet has bare wire leads, just wrap them around the solder lug connector on the back of the speaker to make the electrical connections. A friend can help hold the speaker in place while you listen to the new speaker.
