My new batteries work for the first couple days, but no longer working? Why? The batteries come pre-charged, therefore it can power the Solar light for the first couple of days. The built-in charging panel should keep the battery level maintained or full. However, if there is a problem with the charging panel (on the light), it means the battery is not being charged and will eventually run out, which is why the lantern is not powered.
